In response to rising retaliatory strikes between Turkish forces and a Kurdish militia near the Syrian border, President Tayyip Erdogan declared on Tuesday that Turkey will attack militants with tanks and soldiers as soon as possible.
Erdogan stated in a speech that “we have been taking down terrorists with our planes, cannons, and guns for a few days. God willing, together with our tanks and soldiers, we will root them out as soon as possible.”
Early on Sunday, Turkey began Operation Claw-Sword, a cross-border aerial offensive against the terrorist organization YPG/PKK, which has illegal bases across the Iraqi and Syrian borders where it plans attacks on Turkish territory.
Following the deadly terrorist assault on Istanbul’s popular Istiklal Avenue on November 13 which left six people killed and 81 injured, the country launched an air operation.
“We know the terrorists’ identities, locations, and track records. We also know who funds, arms, and encourages terrorists “Erdogan stated.
He said that Turkey has contributed by upholding all of the agreements on the security of its border with Syria.
