The Supreme Court reportedly stated yesterday that PTI MNAs are not showing up to collect salary, according to Fawad Chaudhry’s tweet. He requested information from the NA speaker regarding the time the MNAs should return to him to officially announce their resignations.
According to Fawad Chaudhry, the party may declare the dissolution of the assembly on December 17 or December 23.
The former information minister stated at a press conference in Lahore that “the coalition administration isn’t serious about discussion,” despite the PTI’s insistence that only snap elections would end the nation’s continued political and economic crisis.
The assertion was made one day after PTI Chairman Imran Khan said he would set a date for the dissolving of both the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies at a public event on December 17.
Even President Arif Alvi tried to engage with the authorities, Fawad claimed, but he was “upset” by their attitude and assured that his party tried to have negotiations with the administration. The idea that the PTI is seeking backing from the establishment has also been refuted by the ousted prime minister. Khan was informed by Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah a day earlier that “that establishment would not get him the election date and neither will there be amenities like those of the 2018 general elections.”
In addition, Fawad pointed out that the PTI legislators who resigned collectively in April of this year were not receiving their salaries, and he requested Qureshi to look into if the government had “stolen their paychecks.”
Selective acceptance of resignations
When accepting only some of the PTI legislators’ resignations, Qureshi claimed to journalists that Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, speaker of the National Assembly, had engaged in “unconstitutional measures.”
