Due to a lack of infrastructure, the Type-D Hospital in the Jawaki area of the Darra Adamkhel tribal subdivision of Kohat has been dysfunctional since it was built 11 years ago, but the personnel is nonetheless paid despite performing no work.
According to a statement released here on Sunday, PPP Senator Shamim Afridi brought up the issue during a visit to the hospital with representatives from the health department.
The ‘unavailable’ personnel, he claimed, was receiving pay in the millions of rupees, while the building’s windows, doors, and restrooms were all damaged. He claimed that although staff members were stated on documents, they were not seen in the hospital.
He stated that he would look into it and then pledge to retrieve the money paid to the absent employees. Additionally, he gave the district administration orders to ensure that the owner of the land is promptly paid the cost of the property. He promised to give a thorough report to the head of the Senate committee on health, Bilalur Rehman, to make sure the hospital had all the resources it needed and that everyone who needed to be there was doing their job.
Turning loyalties
On Sunday, elders from the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf strongholds Nasratkhel, Shahpur, and Gumbat announced their joining of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl.
At a gathering held here, Ibrar Lahoti, the chairman of the Gumbat village council, Mohammad Islam, Shakir Bangash, former district naib nazim Arif Bangash, former district councillor Ashfaq Ahmed Khan, former tehsil councillor Said Ameen, and others revealed their choice.
Seth Gohar Saifullah Khan Bangash, a former nazim of Kohat and JUI-F leader, and Qari Sher Zaman, the mayor of the city, were also there.
The newcomers claimed that not a single cent had been spent by PTI lawmakers in their communities.
CTD center
On Sunday, Kohat division’s newly built counterterrorism centre was officially opened by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Muazzam Ja Ansari.
According to a statement, he claimed that the police were working hard to eradicate militancy in the province.
He emphasised that CTD’s mission was to thwart plans to destabilise Pakistan.
According to Mr. Ansari, the police force would receive cutting-edge gear to confront fifth-generation warfare.
