Yousaf Jamil confirmed on Tuesday that revered preacher and scholar Maulana Tariq Jameel had a heart attack when he was in Canada.
The son claimed in a posting on the microblogging website Twitter that his father was sent to the hospital as a result of the attack.
Thank God, he is feeling better now. Yousaf urged his fans to pray for the well-being of his father. “May Allah give my dad perfect health.”
Separately, Jamil said in a video message uploaded to the scholar’s YouTube account that his father went to the hospital after complaining of chest issues at around 1 o’clock local time.
Yousaf pleaded with social media users to stop spreading misinformation about his father’s health by saying, “However, all the surgeries have been finished successfully and he is perfectly healthy and stable presently.”
We are concerned since he is gone from home while we (his family) are here. We ask that you all pray for his well-being,” he continued.
Additionally, the son pleaded with social media users not to gossip about his father’s condition.
Waseem Badami, a television host, reported that the scholar had a successful operation earlier today and was being monitored in a critical care unit (CCU) at the Toronto hospital.
The event was postponed to December 28 by the non-profit organisation Islamic Relief Canada, which was hosting the religious professor.
A tweet from the organisation stated, “Unfortunately, today’s event with Molana Tariq Jamil has been postponed to December 28th due to Molana’s health.”
