In Bhagalpur, Bihar, movie posters of Pathaan pulled down and burned

The argument started when Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra voiced his disapproval of the song "Besharam Rang," which is from the movie. Posters were destroyed and burned outside the theatre the day before the film's debut.

Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan is encountering yet another difficulty from the general public with just a few days remaining until its release in India. Indian media reported that a group of nationalist Hindu demonstrators tore down and burned movie posters in a theatre in the Bihar city of Bhagalpur.

The movie theatre’s posters were torn down and set on fire by young members of Hindu organisations, who shouted “Film Chalega Hall Jalega.” “Hindutva, according to the young person, cannot be compromised. Bhagalpur, as well as the entirety of India, would not allow any elements that oppose the Sanatan culture “declared the organization’s Hindu members.

The demonstrators warned that the movie would face fierce opposition if it were to be presented in Bhagalpur theatres. Lalan Singh, the theatre’s manager, was quoted in the article as saying that a police station application had been made, and the administration had told the theatre that protection would be provided.

Members of the Bajrang Dal raised a fuss at Ahmedabad’s Alpha One Mall earlier this month as the movie was being promoted. Along with damaging the theatre ticket box area, they ripped down the posters for SRK and his co-stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. They had also vowed to prohibit the movie from being shown in theatres.

Right-wing activist Satya Ranjan Bora reported the Shah Rukh Khan movie “Pathaan” to the police on Monday at the Geetanagar police station. Following the release of its song “Besharam Rang,” “Pathaan” became the centre of criticism.

“The costumes in the song at first glance are objectionable. It is visible that the song of the film Pathaan has been shot with a dirty mindset,” the BJP minister had stated.

PM Modi’s comments about Pathaan

The prime minister is reported to have said, “We work hard day and night and then some of us make needless comments about films….. we should refrain from making unnecessary controversial comments”.

The PM’s remarks follow threats and calls for a boycott of the movie by some politicians in response to the “Besharam Rang” scandal. Many Twitter users praised his remarks.

‘We work hard day and night and then some of us make needless comments about films and that dominates the media and tv. We should refrain from making unnecessary controversial comments..’ PM @narendramodi at BJP national executive. Message to BOYCOTT BRIGADE? Sure hope so!????
