Following a forensic analysis, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday declared the video “fake,” contradicting claims made by Senator Azam Swati of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) that his wife had received a private video showing two of them.
According to the report, the objectionable video that was spreading on the internet was analyzed frame by frame, revealing that ‘deepfake technology’ was used to edit the video.
The FIA said that international forensic techniques had shown that the footage had been altered and that several videos had been used to distort the faces.
It requested that Swati make a formal request so that all of his issues could be addressed and stated that his claims needed to be thoroughly investigated.
Furthermore, it claimed that the false footage had been spread to defame the PTI Senator.
Earlier that day, while he cried while recalling the incident, Swati claimed that his wife received a private video of the two of them from an “unknown number.”
