Sharjeel Inam Memon, Sindh Minister for Information, Transport, and Mass Transit, announced on Friday that the Peoples Bus Service (PBS) will begin service in Hyderabad on November 19.
He stated that the people of Hyderabad would be able to travel at affordable rates in comfortable transportation thanks to this bus service.
According to Sharjeel, the first PBS route in Hyderabad will travel 15 kilometres from Hyder Chowk in the centre of the city to the Hatri Police Station. He also mentioned that 15 bus stops will be set up along the way.
The buses will travel from Hyder Chowk to the Gul Center, Thandi Sadak, Agriculture Complex, Wahdat Colony, Sindh Museum, Qasim Chowk, Jail Road, Isra Hospital, and end at Hattri Police Station.
The PPP leader revealed earlier this month that Karachi residents would soon have access to a new, eco-friendly electric bus service.
240 kilometres can be travelled by these buses after 20 minutes of charging.
According to him, the company in charge of the project would also set up charging stations, and the buses would be powered by solar energy.
The project will also be expanded to other significant cities in Sindh, the minister added, adding that the cost of electric buses will be less than that of Red Buses.
