Maryam Nawaz, vice president of the PML-N, is allegedly leaving for London today on Wednesday after receiving her passport as a result of the Lahore High Court’s reversal of her conviction.
Maryam’s trip to London is scheduled to last two weeks. According to sources, the PML-N leader will board a private airline this morning at 10 am and leave the Lahore airport later.
According to sources close to her family, Maryam will travel back to Pakistan with her father, Nawaz Sharif. Additionally, according to sources, she will receive medical attention while in London.
The news comes a day after Maryam’s passport was restored by the deputy registrar’s office of the Lahore High Court (LHC) in response to orders from the entire bench. She had given up her passport in 2019 as part of the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case, and the court had ordered officials to return it.
Moreover, it follows the Islamabad High Court’s decision to reverse Maryam’s sentence in the Avenfield apartments case, opening the door for her to run in any future elections.
The PML-N leader expressed her gratitude to Almighty Allah for allowing her to finally see her father. I’m so excited to see my dad when my plane lands, she added.
