A representative for the Chinese foreign ministry said on Tuesday that China appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to investigate and fully prosecute those responsible for the terrorist assault that occurred in Dasu, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, last year.
At the International Press Centre (IPC), spokesperson Mao Ning stated that Pakistan treated its inquiries into the attack on July 14, 2021, with the highest seriousness. China is very appreciative of this, Mao spoke to the press.
Two defendants accused in the recent Dasu terror attacks received the death penalty from a Pakistani court. “Now that the suspects had been held accountable, we now know that justice has prevailed. There are fellow compatriots who lost their lives in the attack and they can now rest in peace,” according to Mao.
The spokesperson for the foreign ministry stated that China would continue to strongly assist Pakistan’s anti-terrorism operations and voiced the hope that Chinese nationals, institutions, and projects would be appropriately protected in Pakistan.
She highlighted that the Chinese side would continue to contribute more to enhancing danger alerts, enhancing emergency service abilities, and collaborating with relevant nations to firmly protect the security of abroad Chinese nationals, institutions, and projects.
In response to a query, the spokesperson stated that she was unaware of any claims that Chinese employees working on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor were using armoured trucks (CPEC). She did, however, emphasise that in order to maintain the security of Chinese nationals, both parties were in close contact.
She declared untrue the allegations of a demonstration against CPEC projects in Gwadar while responding to another issue. “These reports are untrue. The organisers have said in public that the protests are not targeting the Chinese side or the CPEC,” she continued.
The spokesperson stated that the Gwadar port was a CPEC flagship port that put a strong emphasis on improving people’s quality of life. “In all the projects that China has in this zone, China had assisted in building primary schools, training academies, hospitals and also the solar panels donated by China, improving the lives of people.”
China, she pointed out, has consistently abided by the values of respect for one another, agreement, and consultation. “China is ready to work with Pakistan for high-quality development of CPEC and to ensure the smooth running of all projects in Gwadar port to deliver more benefits to the people,” she continued.
