Imran Khan, a former prime minister, and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) asserted that General (ret.) Qamar Javed Bajwa’s “setup is still working in the establishment” as the former chief of army staff (COAS).
Without mentioning the name of the army leader, Khan stated: “In Pakistan, the establishment is the name of one individual” during a Sunday press conference in Lahore.
Khan, who was overthrown by a vote of no confidence in the National Assembly in April of last year, claimed that Gen. (retd) Bajwa’s relationship with him deteriorated because the former army leader did not want accountability in the country.
Hussain Haqqani, according to Imran, was employed by the former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) to campaign against him in the US.
The PTI leader asserted that “Donald Lu was taught a lesson from Pakistan” and said that Hussain Haqqani was still campaigning against him and supporting General Bajwa in the US.
On his historic journey to the US as prime minister, he said that the Trump administration extended him a warm welcome.
According to Khan, the nation won’t advance unless the army and all political groups are on the same page.
He continued by stating that no problem can be solved by a military operation and that he has always spoken out against operations in Waziristan.
Default risk looms without IMF instalment
Imran Khan warned the country to prepare for a fresh wave of inflation while speaking at a press conference with Senator Sania Nishtar.
“The administration will have to levy new taxes in order to get the next IMF tranche, which will cause another wave of inflation in the nation.”
Imran claimed that over 750,000 Pakistanis departed the nation in the previous year.
“In this trying moment, I want to address the nation with a message. Instead of fleeing the country during a tough moment, I want you to work to resolve the situation “said Imran.
