Rifat Ara Alvi, the mother of Arshad Sharif, the journalist slain in cold blood, approached Islamabad high court to seek a copy of her son’s autopsy report.
In the petition filed by her, Rifat Ara pleaded that she was not provided with a copy of her son’s autopsy report despite numerous visits to police stations and administration offices.
According to a petition by Rifat Ara, the focal person of the family of Arshad Sharif, a slain journalist, requested the administration to provide the autopsy report. But the administration explained they didn’t have the report and suggested that the focal person contact the police.
The mother expressed fear that facts could be manipulated and distorted in the autopsy report. The victim’s family pleaded with the court that the autopsy report should not be made public without the family’s permission, a la petition.
