Qamar Zaman Kaira, an adviser to the prime minister on Kashmir affairs and Gilgit Baltistan, expressed his opinions on Friday that unconditional rhetoric is the only option to confront all the political issues and reach a consensus on all matters.
“We are ready to hold talk with PTI leadership on their demands but unconditionally. Consensus should be acceptable for all democratic forces to strengthen democracy and supremacy of law and constitution,” he said in a news conference.
“We never refused to hold dialogues with them as long as they justify their demands as here are democratic institutions and constitution, which should be obeyed and respected,” he added.
Moreover, he suggested that ‘deadlock in dialogues’ creates mayhem in the political landscape while ‘discussions pave the way for positive outcomes.
Furthermore, he advised PTI leaders not to issue irresponsible statements soon after the attack. He juxtaposed it with his party leadership which, according to him, never issued careless comments and ‘responses to their charges in polite manners.
He said that PTI’s demand of changing in government is purely an unconstitutional and undemocratic issue.
Replying to a question, Kaira added, “we want a pleasant and calm political atmosphere in the country, while our enemies have opposite agendas and trying to destabilise the country.”
PM’s aid said to another question,” I will request my party leadership to visit and inquire about Imran Khan’s health.”
He praised PPP leadership for staying calm when facing such attacks and even losing their lives but” never exploited the situation and encouraged public for wrongdoings”. He requested PTI leadership to do the same and take the responsible role in ensuring peace in the country and foil the wicked designs of Pakistan’s enemies.
He showed concern for Khan’s health and said that the entire nation was shocked by this unfortunate incident.
However, he blamed the PTI leadership for involving certain personalities in the attack instead of looking into the matter.
Moreover, he added that if Khan is to blame the federal government, he should blame the Punjab government for the attack since it failed to provide proper security arrangements for the long march.
