Jack Dorsey, the creator of Twitter, has announced that he will introduce BlueSky Social, a brand-new social network app. To “reclaim” user data, the new “decentralised” social network will do so.
The software is now undergoing private beta testing and will soon be made accessible to the general public, claims a blog post. A redesigned “AT Protocol” (Authenticated Transfer Protocol), which will be an improvement over the previous “ADX Protocol,” was revealed to the public by the company, even though there is little information available about the upcoming software. This technology will provide the basis for BlueSky.
The company stated, “A brand-new federated social network is called “AT Protocol.” It combines concepts from the most recent decentralised technologies into a simple, fast, and open network. “
BlueSky claims that its programme would allow users to switch between many social platforms using only one good browser. Users will be able to control what they see and how much data they provide to social media sites due to this (algorithmic choice).
Futurism says that the company may be using web3 to achieve this network performance.
Furthermore, BlueSky assures its users that the AT Protocol will provide anonymity for unreliable partnerships that control a person’s online identity. However, accounts may be switched between providers without losing any data or social network connect
To address coordination challenges, the AT Protocol also includes Lexicon, a schema-based interoperation framework.
The company is iterating on the protocol specifications and sharing information about the process while the app is undergoing private beta testing.
