Instead of indulging in war, the world’s superpowers should put their attention on ensuring the safety and survival of people.
At a three-day international interfaith conference named “Bahrain Forum for Dialogue: East and West for Human Coexistence,” held in Manama’s Al-Fida Square under the patronage of Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, religious leaders from many faiths shared their opinions.
Pope Francis, Sheikh Al-Azhar Ahmed Al-Tayeb, and other well-known religious figures and scholars, as well as Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Mufti Abdul Shakoor, and Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology Dr Qibla Ayaz, participated in the moot.
They believed that to ensure the safety and survival of humanity in the region, Russia and Ukraine should put an end to their war and start a negotiation process.
They believed that inter-sect and inter-religious dialogues were the only way for the world to experience prosperity and development.
They said that western countries must play a significant role in addressing the problems caused by climate change and the spread of poverty globally. They thought that all world religions teach peace and love.
Following the conclusion of the international interfaith conference, Ashrafi, who is also the head of the Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC), told that Bahrain’s leadership made a positive decision that would facilitate cooperation between religious differences and bring people of different faiths together.
He expressed his gratitude for the forum’s active involvement by Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and religious experts from different religions and sects, saying it sent a powerful message of love, peace, and brotherhood to the rest of the world.
